A night out in Accra !

A night out in Accra ! | Afrofoodie & Yoyo La Jolie Adventures
Hello Foodies or should I say Party People ! Are you ready for a night out in Accra ?

My second visit to Ghana ( click here to read about the first)  was a 11 hour layover in Accra on my way to Jozi !

Our hosts for the night decided to show us what the nightlife in Accra was all about. Who needs to sleep when you can enjoy cocktails all night long ? 😉

Below are the 4 places we went to on that warm yet pleasant Thursday night. We most definitely recommend the first 3 for they are very happening on Friday & Saturday Night.

Honeysuckle Pub and Restaurant

A traditional English pub with a very cool atmosphere…

Mr. Richard; the bartender was welcoming and also very nice as we asked him to surprise us with something special, the result was a cocktail called « The Special Richard » pretty good I might say.

Firefly Lounge Bar

Ratted one of the top 5 in Accra; it’s one of the hottest pub!

Steven, one of the bartender made us very good mojitos. I usually try different cocktails, but I don’t regret it one sip, it was on point. The music, a nice selection of old r&b jams, definitely contributed to a great time at Firefly.

Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra

I can’t say much about the Cocktail bar at the Mövenpick, as it was closing at midnight. We were however still able to walk around and do what we do best : take pictures.

According to my Ghanaian brother & host, this place is packed on weekends with a cool crowd of friendly locals.

Vienna City

The last place of that Thursday night out in Accra was Vienna City; a club located in Circle.

It was « francophone night » with a DJ from Gabon & Benin ( although he sounded Ivorian to me), we had a good time. However, I will probably not go back there if I had the choice nor will I recommend it to my friends and that include you fellow readers unless you are looking for a totally different kind of atmosphere.
